Overview

DataSapien is a low-code/no-code, on-edge customer experience, data and AI platform designed to supercharge existing mobile applications with privacy-first, on-device AI. The platform empowers teams to define what data to collect, segment users dynamically based on their local data, select which AI models to run on-device and deliver personalized customer experiences.

By default, user data never leaves the device. While data can be configured to sync with a backend upon request, all optimized AI models execute locally on-edge—ensuring maximum user privacy and zero token costs.

From there, teams can seamlessly build and launch end-to-end user interactions—called Journeys—without requiring app store updates, completely bypassing the weeks of delay traditionally imposed by iOS and Android app distribution channels.

Once the development team integrates the SDK into the mobile application, marketing and product teams can deploy powerful Journeys within hours and take them down within minutes when they are no longer required, all with minimal engineering overhead.

Journeys​

Journeys are in-app mini apps. A Journey is an end-to-end customer experience with screens, calculations and data access. Journeys are designed on a web-based admin panel - the Orchestrator, which allows you to drag-and-drop steps on a canvas and connect them. A step can be a screen with visual components to collect and/or display information, or a piece of code (a script) to consume a web API or invoke an on-device AI model. When published, the SDK downloads the Journeys, making them ready to be invoked by the host mobile app.

The SDK executes the Journey step-by-step inside the host app. Journeys can collect user data, consume web services, download and invoke AI models completely on the user's device, as well as call back into the host application. When no longer needed, Journeys can be instantly unpublished, making them unavailable to the SDK. All data collected by the SDK is stored securely on-device, allowing Journeys to target specific user groups based on their local data.

The SDK provides a secure sandbox for marketing and product teams to publish and run Journeys. By collecting and processing user data entirely on-device, it generates rich local insights to drive customer loyalty, personalize services, and boost conversion rates—all with minimal involvement from the development team.

Mobile SDK​

The Mobile SDK is integrated into existing mobile applications, supporting native iOS and Android as well as Flutter and React Native hybrid frameworks. By transforming apps into secure, personal data vaults, the SDK enables local data collection, encrypted storage, and on-device AI/ML processing—delivering real-time Journeys without compromising user privacy.

Operating fully within the host application, the SDK requires just a few lines of code during app startup to configure and connect to your Orchestrator instance. Once initialized, it seamlessly syncs with the Orchestrator, making its entire suite of on-edge data and AI capabilities available via a set of clean, accessible APIs.

The Mobile SDK is distributed through public package managers across all supported platforms. Simply add it as a dependency to your project, initialize it, and start building.

Orchestrator​

The Orchestrator is a low-code/no-code design and control interface for managing on-device functionality. From this central dashboard, teams can define data points and their sources, configure external APIs to be consumed on-edge, deploy optimized AI models, build and publish Journeys, and integrate with existing CRMs or CDPs—all while maintaining full data oversight and compliance.

The Mobile Backend is a core sub-service of the Orchestrator that acts as a scalable bridge to distributed, on-device SDK instances. It seamlessly handles secure data schema and model distribution, configuration syncing, and aggregated, anonymous insights reporting, ensuring flawless, reliable performance across millions of devices.

Tiered On-Device Intelligence​

DataSapien employs a three-tiered AI approach.

  1. Deterministic that is rule or script-based. You can create data-based Rules and author scripts on DataSapien Orchestrator and deploy them to be available within minutes to be executed on-edge by DataSapien Mobile SDK. This way you can make the SDK perform an action when the user data meet the condition you define.

  2. Classic Probabilistic [Under Development] that utilises pretrained ML models. The DataSapien Orchestrator allows you to configure and deploy models and the DataSapien Mobile SDK contains everything to execute them on-egde, integratable to your use cases.

  3. Generative makes use of optimized on device AI models (including LLMs & SLMs) on-edge with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) fed from all on-edge collected data held in the Mobile SDK managed data vault.

With DataSapien, you have the freedom to pick and deploy any model you see fit. The DataSapien Orchestrator allows you to deploy any AI/ML model that can run efficiently on a mobile device. Zero-Party & Zero-Shared Data​

At its core, DataSapien is Zero-Party Data collection and on-device intelligence platform built around the principle of Zero-Shared Data.

  • Zero-Party Data refers to information that customers intentionally and voluntarily share directly with a brand, often in exchange for personalized value. The DataSapien platform allows going beyond self-declared data. By embedding the DataSapien Mobile SDK into the apps, secure processing of a rich array of behavioral data — revealing not just what users say, but what they truly do, becomes possible.

  • Zero-Shared Data overcomes the inherent limitations of traditional Zero-Party Data by fundamentally shifting processing to the user's device. Rather than centrally collecting and exposing sensitive personal information, Zero-Shared Data keeps it private and suggests processing it securely on the device.
